How long has Costume Universe been in business?

Costume Universe is an online Costume Megastore.  CostumeUniverse.com is unique in that we stock thousands of costumes and ship from our huge facility, distributing thousands of different costumes all year long.  Costume Universe is based in Tucker, GA.  CostumeUniverse.com has been a respected and trusted company since 2001.

How are your items shipped?

Costume Universe has devoted a complete section on Shipping and Shipping policies.  Please refer to the Shipping Section for more information.

What Forms of Payment do you accept?

Costume Universe will accept payment by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and AmericanExpress) or via PayPal.  You may use the online shopping system that we have developed for your convenience, but if you do run into some difficulties while checking out you can call us at 1-866-591-4719 and one of our customer service representatives will be more than happy to take your order over the phone.   When paying by credit card, we require the cardholder's name, billing address, credit card number, expiration date, and the credit card 3 or 4 digit security code(cvv).  After submitting your order, you will have the opportunity to print your receipt, which we suggest you do, and you will receive a confirmation email.  Please hold on to this receipt as it not only obtains details about your order but your personal information on obtaining access to the Customer Only section of our site.  The customer only section of our site offers detail records of your purchases and other important information for customers only.

What is your Product Warranty?

All merchadise is shipped in good condition and is packaged properly.  Should a package be delivered to you opened, damaged or tampered with, please notify the carrier immediately.  Retain shipping cartons for inspection.  All obvious damage must be claimed with the carrier. 

All packages are checked twice against the invoice.  If you have a problem with shortages, or if it's the wrong product, please notify our Customer Service Department (1-866-591-4719) within five working days of receipt.  No claims will be accepted after that time.

All claimes must be report to Costume Universe and a verbal authorization(RMA) must be obtained.

What if there is a product that I need and I do not see it on your site?

Costume Universe offers thousands of products.  Many of which are not yet inventoried on the website.  We can assist you with finding the perfect costume or discounts on large orders of like items..  Please call us or use our email option to send us your needs and we will get to it promptly.

Do you accept returns?

Costume Universe wants customers to be happy.  Sometimes a return is necessary to achieve customer satisfaction.  Understanding that returns are appropriate for certain issues, we have set up a few quidelines to assure that returns are handled properly and fairly.

Due to the nature of many costumes being needed for only one time in many occassions we have establishe the following guidelines: We accept returns only for reasons due to mistakes we make.  In this case, a Return Authorization is appropriate and is issued for a form of a credit via an in store gift certificate once we recieve the mistaken product.  The gift credit may be used immediately or will be in the system to be used for future purchases up to 12 months from the original date of pucrhase. 

Returns may be considered under the following conditions only:

  • All requests for returns due to mistaken shipments must be approved by Costume Universe within Three(3) business days of receipt of order.
  • The return request must be made using our Return Authorization Form.  Failure to use this form will result in no action.  Please utilize our Contact Us link and select Return Authorization Number from the subject line.
  • Merchandise must be in new condition, unused and in original packaging.
  • No credit will be issued on items damaged due to shipping problems and any other situations beyond our control. The shipping company is liable for shipping negligence and you request damages from the shipping company.
  • On approved items, buyer shall be responsbile for shipping costs both ways unless Costume Universe is responsible for the return due to sending the wrong item.
  • Due to health regulations, the following items are not available for refunds:  Masks, Wigs, Hats, Make-Up, Hair Spray, and any other items that are used on the mouth of hair area.  Special order items and sale items are not eligible for return. 

UNAUTHORIZED RETURNS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
